Have you ever swayed, or tried to sway, people from their religion by misrepresenting their religion to them?

Considering that I have no tolerance for bible fundamentalists, I personally never did that. When my Baptist friend told me she doesn't know about the history of her own religion, I just suggested to her to read history and find out about it and to really know about her own beliefs and why it was made; like who are the people behind it and why they teach what they teach.
