Is there any evidence that "God made man"? Is it a fact, or a mere belief?

The origin of the species and Universe are not "proved" beyond all doubt in any direction, so it is as much "fact" as evolution is termed fact because it is accepted as such by a large number of people. The truth is that to determine in any direction what is the basis for the origin of species and Universe, faith is employed since there exists no living eye witnesses to any of these claims.
