Purchasing liquor as a "minor" charges?

I'm 6 months away from 21 and I tried to buy liquor from the liquor store. This is what happened. I went to the register and tried to buy some bacardi. I didn't give her any cash because I know she needed I.d. first. So she asked me for my I.d. which I gave to her. Its a valid I.d. with my actual birthdate on it so I didn't have a fake I.d. nor did I lie about my age or misrepresent myself in anyway. She wasn't sure about the date on the license so she asked for a manager. She came and looked at my I.d. and said "you're not 21" and I said "yeah, I just want some liquor to enjoy my vacation :-)". She walked off with my I.d. in hand. I then left the store and went home. I did the research and its not illegal to attempt to buy liquor as a minor in florida. Its only illegal if I would have gave her the cash. They still have my I.d. and they may have called the cops. What can I be charged with since I didn't actually give the cashier money nor misrepresent myself? Or am I just looking at a fine and community service?
