What are some things I should mention in my speech?

I'm doing a speech on ASL and Deaf Culture. However, I'm tentative to start because I'm hearing and I know I can't have a very good in-depth view of the Deaf Community because I'm not exactly a part of it. I don't wish to misrepresent the Deaf so any suggestions, guidelines, or tips for my speech would be very much appreciated.
