Can you force bend wood?

well im building a guitar and the rosewood bridge isn't sitting flat on the soundboard and i need it to or else it wont have the strength to hold the strings. so my question is can i bend the bridge slightly like 1cm on each side to create a small curve by soaking it in water but instead of heating it clamping it to a peace of wood close to the desired angle. or would it crack. if not will i have to let it dry out for a longtime to make sure that it doesn't try and shrink once its been glued on the soundboard. well i hope someone can answer this but i doubt it.

Being blamed for somthing i seriously dont think i did!?

Alright so me and my friends were at the pool a couple of weeks ago and we were havin fun filling up some water ballons and things like that ect. And me and one of my friends decided for some reason to start throwing rocks around the pool area( I igmit not the smartest idea) so we wanted to scaare are other friends so we chased them into the mens locker room with the rocks and evry time 1 of them would come close to leaving the restroom we would throw another rock at them. After that me and my friend who was also throwing rocks jumped on our and rode off when out of nowear this crazy lady was running aftr me and my friend and she was like "I know who u are!" and "You better stop!" and I knew i have never seen this lady in my life and she didnt know me so after each thing she would yell at us i would yell "ok!" and "Ya!". I guess she was pissed at that point and we were long gone up the rode but she walked into the pool area and grabbed one of the kids in the locker room and took my friends out of the locker room and asked who they were and what they were doing. Me and my friend on bikes had a feeling they were gonna rat us out so he went back to the pool are while i just went home. One of my wimpier friends told the lady my address and my name. So two weeks later they sent my parents a letter from the board of directors saying that i had broken a big light fixture in the northern part of the pool area. UVB light fixture question. NEED HELP?

ok so im planning to buy bearded dragons soon and i want to get everything ready before i get them. so i am getting an 18 in UVB bulb for them but the only problem is that i need the fixture that holds them. all of this is coming out of my budget and i am only 15. i want to save some money and hopefully get a cheaper fixture. so i found a black light fixture that is 18 inches too. so i was just wondering if a UVB bulb would work with a black light fixture. i dont want to harm any animals so should i just spend the extra money on a fixture or get a black light fixture. please let me know what you think, thanks.

I'm sure I'm gonna get a lot of hate and attacks for this response. But I've felt that same way, and still do occasionally. For me, going out with friends/smoking weed/drinking/partying is a great release. It isolates my mind from the rest of life. I can simply let loose and enjoy myself. After relieving tension this way, I have more motivation to use for everything else. This may seem very illogical, but it works for me. Hope you figure out what works for you.

Steel Seal repair done without written permission?

Me and my girlfriend bought a 1993 Ford Explorer from Breeze Motors on 11/08/10. The vehicle was sold to us by David Franciosi. He asked us what kind of car we where looking for. We told him something around $2000 with low miles. He showed us one vehicle with around 180,000 miles on it and in our price range, we said that the mileage was way to high for what we where looking for. He then showed us the 1993 Ford Explorer which read on the windshield: $2800 4x4 Low Mileage. He began telling us that he just received this vehicle a few days ago and that "it had only 93,215 original miles on it." We told him that is pretty good for being such an older car. He told us that it had only "one previous owner and it wasn't used much." We told him that we only came with $2000 cash, which then he proceeded to tell us that he would take $800 off because he knew we where tight on money. He said to us "With 93,215 original miles on this car you could drive it for a year or two and still get $1500, when you sell it." After less than three weeks of ownership of the vehicle it began to overheat. We immediately brought the car back to the dealership, the mechanics looked it over for overheating and told us it needed a new radiator. They had the Radiator, Fan blade, and fan clutch replaced and charged us $340.27. We came and picked up the car the moment we drove out of the dealership thick white smoke started to come out of the exhaust. At this point we where very discourage with the vehicle. We brought it back and Ryan Wigmore (Owner) said they would check it out and get back to us. We received a phone call telling us that we needed a new head gasket. David spoke with us directly and told us he felt really bad because we had just purchased the vehicle less then a month ago and there where all these problems. We where shown a print out of head gasket work and where told that we where being cut a deal for a new head gasket. We where told that the labor costs would be very low and the majority of the price would be for parts. We where charged $374.50 for the work. A week later we picked up the car and set up a payment agreement. We paid off our balance and then 2 weeks later the car start overheating again. We brought it back to the dealership once again. We began to wonder why a car with such low miles would be having all these problems. They looked over it and called us and told us now we need a new engine. We asked about the head gasket and Ryan told us that they just steel sealed it and tried to see if that would work to save us money. Steel seal cost $90 and about an hour max for labor, we where charged $374.50. We never received any signed paperwork from Ryan stating that they where doing steel seal which we where told was a head gasket. We where told that they would replace the head gasket for a discounted price. Instead of fixing the head gasket like we where told by David, they poured steel seal into the car, without our permission. We thought we had a fixed/new head gasket and where unaware we where driving around with steel seal. So now the engine is destroyed and we need a new engine. We asked multiple times for the written paperwork stating we gave them permission to use the "Steel Seal" they said they do not any signed paperwork for those repairs. We have owned the car for 3 months now and had to bring it to the dealership 3 separate times. We found out that the car actually had 193,215 original miles on it at the point of sale.The misrepresenting of the 1993 Ford Explorer by David Franciosi induced us into a contract of purchase for the vehicle, which we would of never engaged in if we knew that it had 193,215 miles on it.

How is rain leaking through the 1st floor ceiling of a 2-story house?

We just had a huge rainstorm, and during the storm, water started dripping down from our light fixture on the 1st floor ceiling in our kitchen. The ceiling around the light fixture is dry though, and there's no leaks or signs of water anywhhere on the 2nd floor! I don't know if its a leak from a 2nd floor bathroom, but its a huge coincidence that the water started dripping down during this huge rainstrom. Any ideas as to what's going on? All my vegetable plants' leaves seem to be steadily shrinking down to nothing. Whats going on?

I have several vegetable plants that I have in my garden. I have bean plants, okra, lemon gourd, bitter lemon and even papaya. All these plants we have grown well every year with great success. I live in Texas. They have all prospered despite the heat and I water them very well twice a day. I've seen leaves bigger than sombreros in the past. Now, for the first time it seems that these plants are shrinking. Their first leaves are all very large and healthy, but now it seems the leaves on the vines are shrinking gradually until the vine has no leaves at all. I have created a very strong structure with several strings that line it for support. The vines have plenty of support, plenty of sunlight, plenty of water, and I personally till the soil before I plant with various fertilizer and keep them well fertilized throughout their life spans. I am 69 years old and have grown plants since I was 8 in both India and America. I've never seen this problem before. We had some hail about 3 weeks ago but the leaves that could have been affected by it have already grown and are perfectly normal. Also, with the variety of my plants, I don't think it is a form of bug, but I am not discounting anything. Please respond. It hurts me to see my plants dying off like this. Some of my bitter lemons grew 2 feet long. I haven't even seen them that big in India. Now they stop growing at 4 inches. Please help.

My Pelonis space heater shorted out and caused a fire. Do I have a case?

My Pelonis ceramic space heater caused a fire in my family room. I'm so glad we were home and awake! The heater was off but still plugged in. Honestly during the winter it's a permanent fixture in that room because it gets so cold. We do turn it off but typically do not unplug it. The other morning I heard what sounded like a cell phone vibrating, very loudly I might add. The next thing I new I heard my husband screaming "fire, fire, fire....He's your typical goof ball...so I figured he's goofing off with the kids...I turned around and looked into the family room and saw he was serious. There was a fire up the wall and behind the chair. He was able to get the fire out on his own however there was some damage. The plug on the heater shorted out (actually melted in the outlet). We did get an estimate for the damages and it's just over 8,000.00. We do have home owners insurance but I'm curious to know if it's worth the time and effort to try to have the manufacturer of the heater pay for the damages. It could have been a lot worse had we not been home and/or asleep but if this could be faulty manufacturing I don't think it's fair we are stuck with a large deductible.

My dad has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer of the esophagus, it has spread to his upper back, in his right lung and his lymph nodes.. Haven't lost my belly yet..?

So I'm 15 years old and in January I weighed 186 pounds, now I weight 157, and I've definitely noticed it. I've shrunk 3 pants sizes and i feel a lot better. the problem is in my belly. I can't seem to get rid of it ! I try doing workouts that target those areas, but I can't stick to them, so to lose weight I use an ellyptical. The problem is mostly my lower belly ( HATE it) and my obliques (stick out..) Why haven't I lost these yet, and will they go away if i just stick to regular cardio? thanks :)

I'm not quite sure what to make of this. it started a couple of years ago when my stereo decided it was only going to play neil young's harvest for months. every time i tried to put in another cd, it would tell me there was no disc and spit the cd back out. put neil back in, no problems. anyhow, the stereo got over it eventually, and i can now play other cd's too, but it won't ever turn off completely. i will turn it off, but it turns itself back on. and now my computer turns itself on and off. and the t.v. turns itself on. and i've had 2 dvd players just quit working altogether until i unplug them for a few minutes. and the lights in the dining area flicker, and sometimes brand new bulbs (chandelier bulbs if it makes any difference) will blow out one right after the other in that lighting fixture. i do have an occasional power surge, i don't know if anyone else in the building does. could it be due to power surges or maybe because the wiring is old in the building? ideas? thanks:)

So last year in August i was overseas for 5 months....i felt very sick for 2 days and extremely drowsy. The other day my mom got a notice on her door saying that pest control will be coming in this friday to spray it also said it was mandatory. What are my rights as an American at the Canadian (Land) Border?

Just this week I tried to cross the Canadian border to visit some friends for at least a couple weeks. I was given a really bad experience by multiple border officers and was denied access on two attempts. Regardless of what their reasons were, I would like to know if anyone can reference me to a some document released by the Canadian government explaining what rights I have at the border because I am sure by the treatment I was given that I have ground to file a complaint with their government. Here are some examples. On both the first and second day my vehicle was searched and was I told to sit in the corner and did not have the ability to see what the officers were doing but the second day was the one that bugged me the most because they completely emptied my car and removed my carpets, looked in every compartments they could open and even tested all my vitamins and pills for drugs. I'm not completely upset with the vehicle inspection it was mainly the fact they sat me in the corner with no way to keep those officers accountable. Because what if they decided to try to plant drugs in my car and then haul me off to jail calling me a lier when I answer they are not mine or what if they decide to snag a piece of very expensive jewelry or other valuable item. Now I am not saying this would happen but it is important to try to at least prevent it. Secondly, when I was quizzed about my intentions the border officer twisted my words or misrepresented my answers. For example when she asked me how long I am staying for I answered at least 2 weeks but she wrote just 2 weeks then later she asked me again and then said I was being evasive and lying about my trip because she said she wrote down 2 weeks when I answered "at least" 2 weeks. Electrician work cost reasonable in your opinion?

I wanted to check up on the bill I received from my electrician today. The work included a fault find for an open neutral inside (bulbs kept blowing out in a fixture). He found neutral wires not connected in a wall switch and fixed it. An outlet outside also stopped working, and he found the wires leading between two exterior outlets were damaged. He pulled the damaged wire leading between the two outlets and replaced it with new wire (about a 25 foot run). Problem fixed. He then removed an old, malfunctioning porch light and installed a new motion light on our porch. The final bill was $1,000 and he was here for about 5 hours. Is this reasonable for the work done and time spent?

Is it ok for bare wire to touch wood?

I am wiring a light fixture composed of four 2x4 posts that are each 4 feet long. They will be lined in a square shape. For the sockets, I have 8 ceiling mount light sockets that are going to be wired with 16 gauge wire that runs to a wall outlet for easy transportation. My only question is if it will be ok for the wire that connects all of the sockets to touch the wood frame? I am the plaintiff and I servered the defendant attorney with a notice of deposition. The day before the depo at the very last minute he served me with a Motion to Quash. The problem is that he did not and had no intention to serve the court. Unique Loan type, need willing lenders!?

I have a buddy who is looking for a lender to do loans for constructing fixtures. His company installs these fixtures which will save his client money (without giving away too much details). These cost approx. $5,000.00 to install and will save the client on average of $300 per month. He needs to set up a way of getting these loans for construction where they would give him the money to produce the product and then the client would pay back the lender month –to-month. (Of course there would be a slight interest or increase of principal. They would be making monthly payments based on a % of their savings. This is very similar to the Solar Power loan programs. Does anybody know how to go about approaching a lender for this type of loan? What types of lenders would be willing to do this. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Yes, it needs a certain amount of it. In the US, at least, that proportion of the work force goes down all the time, though. I am at wits end right now. I have been trying to get help and has not been working. My 4 year old functionally non verbal child that has limited receptive and expressive speech is making family life about impossible 75 percent of the time. He throws anything and everything at the fan/light fixture, broke a window on himself with a toy, broke my toe, pinches his family members (leaving bloody spots daily), bits until people bleed, hits and kicks leaving bruises on us and him. He does these things also to himself too. He breaks at least one thing a day. He broke the printer today along with a toy car. He throws things at us and the windows. He is strong is almost impossible to restrain for long. I use positive reinforcement with him all the time. I do time outs and everything. I have even spanked him, as a last resort. Somedays I just don't know what to do, I just want to give up:( When he is sweet, he is a treasure. I love him so much but don't know how much longer I can keep him safe from himself and keep our family safe from him. If you eat in the morning you'll be hungry in the afternoon so this is what you do. wake up drink a cup of orange juice maybe milk, some water and a vegetable snack around 9 then at 12 eat some salad with some meat not much but some meat is good both ways. then maybe another fruit/ vegetable snack and water towards the afternoon or night . this way you won't be hungry and will be eating healthy o yeah and chew chew chew!! it is much easier for your stomach if you break your food down more. o ans don't think about eating anything right before you'll go to sleep it will stay there and hurt your stomach at night unhealthy gets you diarrhea btw you should be proud of your self when you look at the mirror you are a good boy or girl "sorry haven't figured it out " and should not worry much about the looks as much as how unhealthy it is. although if looks gets you motivated than use it i mean i don't want to look fat but remember this is also for your own health.

A good fixture for reptisun 5.0?

I recently bought reptisun 5.0 24in only to find out its a long tube ive now found out it needs a fixture or something how am i supposed to put in on my 40l tank? How to put shelves up using only finishing nails?

i have a set of 4 shelves that i had gt a long time ago. I now know where i want to put them but the problem is that the mounting hardware that was supposed to come with it is missing from the pack and all i have on hand are some finishing nails. I tried using two nails in each hole since the shelves already have the same type of fixture. so i tried attaching the shelves to the nails but it would sag and the nails would get pushed in as i would try to attach the shelves. Im really frustrated right now as i want to use them to organize but i dont know what else to do as this is my very first "remodeling" type project. Im also a novice beginner and have had no prior experience with anything construction related. Can you force bend wood?

well im building a guitar and the rosewood bridge isn't sitting flat on the soundboard and i need it to or else it wont have the strength to hold the strings. so my question is can i bend the bridge slightly like 1cm on each side to create a small curve by soaking it in water but instead of heating it clamping it to a peace of wood close to the desired angle. or would it crack. if not will i have to let it dry out for a longtime to make sure that it doesn't try and shrink once its been glued on the soundboard. well i hope someone can answer this but i doubt it.

Swollen Occiptal lympnode for a year? INFO PLEASE!?

So last year in August i was overseas for 5 months....i felt very sick for 2 days and extremely drowsy. I then noticed 2 swollen lymphnodes on the back of my head...on the transition area from the neck to head where curve of the skull begins. I began to do research and became worried about Hodgkin's or non Hodgkin's lymphoma. I went to the doctor...without healthcare...so i had to pay a lot of money.(Im from Canada where its covered). I did MRI and blood work and it was determined i had Mononucleosis (Mono). Soon after the Nodes began to shrink. However they never shrunk completley and remeain puffy until today. I thought nothing of it. Recently my cousin, hes 21 (im 20) was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma by some sort of sick coincidence. This is reviving my fears..but once again im overseas and it would be expensive to go to a doctor. Is it worth the money to go to the doctor. Or can it wait till next month when i return to Canada? Is this something to worry about ?

my navel was infected for like a month and a half and only getting worse. puss was coming out of the piercing but after a while it wasn't as much, so i squeezed as much out as i could and like an idiot i took the piercing out and after like 30 minutes i couldn't even get the ring back in. i don't think it entirely closed but it shrunk, then i cleaned the holes with sea salt and left it alone...this morning it looks a lot more closed up, there is no way i can get the ring back in now, but the part the bar went through feels kind of hard but the redness of the holes is going away. it doesn't hurt now and it didn't hurt while i had the piercing in, the hole was just red and some puss came out. so i think i have an abscess...and i know your not supposed to take it out but i really had to for other reasons too. does this sound like it was infected or just irritated...and does it sound like i have an abscess now? if so what do i do about it D:
